I know, its been a while since I've done any sort of moderation on here. Real life sometimes will take the fun out of things. Let's talk playoffs. Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs (ok, shut up Jim Mora.) AL/NL Champs? The Cubbies are in the fight for the pennant, and as I type, the Mets have imploded...which opens the door for thsi scrappy Rockie ball club to possibly secure the Wild Card. Thoughts/hopes/dreams? I have 1: The Yankees crash and burn in the opening round. And Chicago gets hot (ala St. Louis 2006) and wins the whole....ducking....thing.

I might move this thread to General Discussion if it generates enough activity.
Here are the playoff matchups:
ALDS: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim @ Boston Red Sox
ALDS: New York Yankees @ Cleveland Indians
NLDS: Chicago Cubs @ Arizona Diamondbacks
NLDS: (San Diego Padres/Colorado Rockies) @ Philadelphia Phillies
The Padres and Baby Rocks tiebreaking game will take place on Monday evening at 6:37 P.M. C.T.

Go Rockies. Easier for my Cubbies to beat them later on.

Amen on the Rockies winning tonight. Right now it's 6-6 tie in the bottom of the 11th.
But dayum, I'm kind of favoring the Cubbies (history-related) of winning the whole fricking thing.

How about those Rockies???
8-8 tie with a runner on third, nobody out. Woo-hoo!
This really is one of the feel-good stories of MLB right now.

Rockies win, but wait a minute.....
Holliday never touched home plate. The cameras from every angle clearly proved so.
Did anyone else see that delayed call???

I was wondering the same thing. Was he drilled w/the thrown ball? I know this isn't Dodge Ball, but....hmmm.
Oh well...nice way to start the post-season. Never thought the Rocks would be in. This is basically the same team that KC beat two of three way back in Nam....er, May.

Clap...clap....and down go the Yanks in a two game hole with a game winning single by Travis Hafner. And how bout Joba Chamberlain. Insects, not hitters...made him look human. Anyone see all those gnats flying around him?
And Manny being Manny...take a couple weeks off, then mashes a three run jack to boost the Red Sox to a 2-0 lead on the Halos.

For those who never submitted their bracket, you can begin an CS/WS bracket below.
Looks like it will be C.C. Sabathia (Cleveland Indians) @ Josh Beckett (Boston Red Sox)
And
Jeff Francis (Colorado Rockies) @ Brandon Webb (Arizona Diamondbacks)
Both great matchups. I'm glad three small market or medium market teams made the CS. That's great for baseball.
