I want to take some time once again and welcome everyone to my site. We already have over a dozen regular posters thus far and I hope that many more begin posting and contributing to this website in the very near future. First, let me reveal a little information about myself.
My name is Jack Dempsey. I was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, and I'm nothing more than a lifelong, avid Royals fan. I don't consider myself a blogger or "insider" by any means. I am merely a 27 year old fan who has lived and breathed baseball nearly his entire life. I played baseball for over fifteen years - through my senior year in high school and one year collegiately. I began collecting baseball cards at age seven, and that sparked my interest in baseball. I began following the Royals and attending games regularly. I frequented many Royals websites in my early teens, and attended Royals-related luncheons nearly every year. My uncle (RoyalLoyal) and my father (lelandinkc), who also post on this website, are If you ever see me at a game at Kauffman Stadium, I'll usually be sitting in the club-level seats, section 207 on the third base side, if not directly next to the third base dugout. Among those who inspired my interest in baseball are my grandfather, who played college baseball at Mississippi and played Minor League ball for the St. Louis Browns. My father and my uncle, two lifelong baseball fans, also influenced my interest considerably.
I started KC Royals Nation in 2006 as a supplementary message and bulletin board for other Royals-related newssites, online journals, and message boards. Among the message boards, I have frequented and posted on RoyalBoard, RoyalsReview, and "kcroyalsbaseball", the Yahoo! Royals ListServe, the longest. I advertise for other websites informally on this board, and frequent/post and advertise for this site on others. I will at often times credit posters from other websites and link the posts on to this site, in order to help develop and build KC Royals Nation. However, I would rather leave personal opinion and insight to you, the poster. In other words, I will very rarely chime in on my beliefs on any event surrounding the Royals.
In KC Royals Nation, I wanted to encourage thoughtful discussion, where each person conducts themself intelligently and personably. I hope everyone enjoys the website, and if you have any opinions, suggestions, or questions - either send me a personal message on KC Royals Nation or e-mail me at kcroyalsnation - at - gmail.com. I hope everyone enjoys KC Royals Nation!
Sincerely,
Jack Dempsey
