BALCO Barry stands at 754 career homers. Does anyone care?
Manny Ramirez, meanwhile, hit his 488th career dinger, this time against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays at the Trop.
Roger Clemens earned the loss on Saturday, so he's now at 351 career wins.

In addition to his controversial home run record, Barry* is now sitting on 2910 hits - 90 away from reaching the 3000 hit club.

As all of us know on the board, the Yankee's Alex Rodriguez hit his 500th home run yesterday off of our newly acquired starting pitcher Kyle Davies.
In addition, (like 99% on the board including myself) as much as it pangs me to say this, the Giant's Barry Bonds hit his record-tying 755th career home run last night off of Padres' Cla Hensley.
Tonight the Met's Tom Glavine goes for win #300 versus the Cubbies.

It's turning out to be quite a year for milestones.
ManRam hit his 489th career dinger on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners.
Also, Jim Thome hit his 490th career homer on Saturday against Detroit.

BALCO Barry launched Home Run #756* off of Washington lefty Mike Bacsik. It was a towering, 410-ft. shot to straightaway center. Bonds was greeted, of course, with overwhelming applause from his home crowd. There was even a video congratulations from Hammerin' Hank himself. And the cloud of suspicion lingers still....

Ugh. Can we say asterisk? Thank goodness I was doing something constructive (sleeping). I do not hate many people, but Balco Barry is surely a Top 5er on that list.

OK, in various other events throughout the past couple weeks....
Ken Griffey, Jr. hit home run #490.
Gary Sheffield hit HR #479.
And Roger Clemens is now 11 wins away from tying Warren Spahn on the all-time list. That likely won't happen this season.

Jim Thome now sits on 492 dingers on his career. He hit #491 and #492 on August 18 in Seattle.
Roger Clemens won his fifth game of the year against Detroit on August 18. He now has 10 wins to tie Spahn on the all-time list. He'll accomplish that next year assuming he decides to play an entire season.
By the way, Barry Bonds has another record he is hoping to accomplish, hit #3000. He now has 2922 on his career. He'll probably accomplish that record next year, assuming he decides to play.

OK, a few recent updates:
Jim Thome recently hit his 493rd career shot, a solo blast off the Kansas City Royals in a 5-2 loss.
Ken Griffey, Jr. hit his 591st career homer, against the Florida Marlins on August 25.
Barry Bonds now has 2928 career hits.

Ken Griffey is now 7 HR's away from 600. Jim Thome is 3 dingers away from 500. BALCO Barry likely won't hit 3,000 until next season, assuming he plays.

Jim Thome crushed HR #499 against the Indians on Wednesday, so he's on the verge.

Jim Thome hit career home run #500 on Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
It looks like Roger Clemens, Manny Ramirez, and Gary Sheffield won't receive their respective milestones this season. Barry Bonds will not reach the 3000 hit mark this season.
We already knew that Randy Johnson, who is out for the season, will not reach 300 wins.
Ken Griffey, Jr. still needs to hit 7 home runs to get 600.

It looks like 8 of the 14 major milestones throughout MLB this season were accomplished. I'm going to revisit the Polling Booth thread on which milestones would occur.
