Here at Royals Nation, we've created a tradition of holding Survivor contests to see which players/managers/G.M.'s get eliminated when and who is left as the final person standing. Let us continue that tradition with Royals Survivor, Edition 2.0.
Remember the Royals Survivor contest of 2007? In a somewhat surprising result, Joakim Soria (closer or starting pitcher?) emerged as the victor. Also, many of you may remember our three other contests from 2007 - Royals Minor League Survivor, All-Time Royals Survivor, Managers Survivor, and General Managers Survivor.
You know the rules! Survivor is an 'elimination game' where we will take the current Royals' 40 man roster, and eliminate players one-by-one until we get to the last Royal standing. The only Royal who remains standing will, obviously, win the contest!
OK, as a reminder, here are the rules for Royals Survivor:
- You can eliminate Royals based on anything you would like. If you would like to eliminate Royals by talent or by "upside", you may do so. If you would like to eliminate a Royal simply because you don't like the guy, you may do so. The merits for elimination can be whatever you would like them to be. However, the Royal must be on the current 40-man roster listed at the top.
- We will eliminate Royals by round. There will be 39 rounds total, to eliminate each of the Royals who currently sit on the team's 40-Man Roster. (40-Man Roster additions will be included for fun, but won't count in the end result).
- Only one person is allowed to post for each round. In each round, three votes for one player will eliminate that player. Once three votes for one player have accumulated, that round is done, and the next round starts automatically. Obviously, you can not vote for a player who has already been eliminated.
- This will not be a timed contest. In other words, we won't time rounds by "three hours" or "one hour". As soon as three votes for one player accumulate, we will begin a new round.
- Guests may post in the forum!
I'm not planning on organizing points for the winners or giving prizes to whoever eliminates the most Royals or contributes to the most eliminations! This contest is more just for excitement than anything else. Also, it would be a great way for you to tally posts on the board. Feel free to spread the gospel to your friends or the Royals community.
