I think the Royals are keeping both Meche and DeJesus. Meche has a no trade clause in his contract and we would have to get a heck of a return to deal DeJesus. I think if the Royals can sign a speedy CF, DeJesus would make a great left fielder on a contending club.
Teahen is the one we need to trade before he looses all possible trade value. Maybe package him with Mahay or a pitching prospect for that missing center fielder or slugging first baseman.

I would listen to offers on Meche after the season, if Bannister, Hochevar, and Greinke have strong second halves. Could Mark Teahen be a future second baseman, or is he lacking the range needed for the position? I would hang onto Grudz and Mahay, as I don't believe they'll net much in prospect worth at the deadline. They can contribute more in actual victories this season than any C-level prospect they would net in return. And the comp. draft picks after 08 and 09 would be worth it. (Mahay will very likely be a Type-B then, right?)

Maybe Teahen could be a second baseman but all the position changes are probably starting to wear thin with him.
He really needs to be a third baseman... the best thing for him and his career would be to play third and bat leadoff, I was SO glad he was batting leadoff last night. I hope they stick with it.

He K's to much to be a decent leadoff player and if his K's continue he'll K to much to be a decent player period. I'd love to trade Teahen while his valur is still somewhat high

I would wait until the end of the season, hope his trade value/production increases, and then trade him for a young, $$$-controllable starting pitcher....preferably a lefty.

Leading off should see a decline in the K's because he's putting too much pressure on himself while in the 3 or 5 spot. They just need to STOP telling him to drive in runs and hit homers because he just CAN'T do it. Stick him in leadoff and let hiim do what he does best and we'll get more homers, more walks, and less K's.

I agree as another guy said on the RoyalBoard, we need to shop Olivo to the Yankees...

Olivo to the Yanks or Brewers and Mahay to the highest bidder. Those sound like good deals that are hopefully coming.

If we can't get anything more than a projected 4th outfielder/spot starter/bench player type for Mahay or Grudzielanek, then don't trade them, as they will be more valuable to this team's core than any Chip Ambres or Shane Costa would in 2010. I mean, teams are talking about trading for Grudz as a bench bat? !

I'd be hard pressed to believe Grudz won't be a Type-B. I mean, David Riske, a set-up man, could net us Mike Montgomery. Why can't a .300/.350/.400, above average second baseman (101 OPS+) net us something in return in next year's amateur draft?
