Congratulations, Bolt of Blue, on the big win....beating the Downtown Raiders 12-5 in the final matchup. As a "consolationite" this season, now I'll know who to talk the most smack to next season.

Important note to all Fantasy leaguers:
I'm considering converting this league a "Keeper League". Would everyone be interested in that? If you're still confused or would be opposed to the idea, let me know.

If there's an opening I want in this bad boy. There are several openings open, since a few owners have not updated in awhile. Openings are on a first come-first serve basis, so if this is a keeper league, then plotty, I'll give you the first pick. (I still need to sort out who's staying and who's going first).

To all Royals Nation Fantasy Leaguers and contributors to the site,
I'm considering making our ESPN Fantasy league from 2007 a "Keeper League". Basically, this would mean we would keep our players we used this year, with trades of course still happening.
Please let me know if you would be interested in joining (plotty, I know you wanted to).
The following teams have either not been updated or I haven't heard back from the original owner. I am going to personally e-mail everyone in the league to ask if they are on board for the year, but I believe these teams are up for ownership, if anyone is interested in "adopting" a team. Obviously, you can change the team's name and logo. Here are the teams, and how they finished for 2007:
KC Banditos (205-203) Schofield's Slaughters (205-203) Stanley PowderBlue (171-237) Horrid Black Mudd (formerly owned by RoR1fan) (111-297) IA Stars (maybe) (225-183)
If anyone would like to bow out of this keeper league, let me know. Likewise, if anyone would like to join, please let me know. Those who respond first will get priority (plotty has already gotten first priority).
Thanks!
Jack Dempsey

If we make it a keeper league, how many keepers are you proposing? 5? 10? an entire starting lineup? Just curious as to how we could help even things out a little bit with the haves and have nots.

You know, honestly....I'm really going to have to look into it more. I'll accept any and all suggestions, especially from those who have participated in keeper leagues before (I haven't).
I think it would be worth it to grow attached to the same players year in and year out, and at least have the possibility of developing dynasties. And the Horrid Black Mudds of the world could have fun building their team up to where it needs to be.
I'm thinking we could keep 7 position players, 3 starting pitchers, and 1 reliever per team....

skillset, I see your logic in adding those studly free agents. It was witty and entertaining, and hilarious.
But what I think I'll have to do is disallow waiver/free agent pickups until the next draft, if we do go through with the keeper league.
Witty. And. Entertaining.

I released so many good players due to injury or lack of regular September duty in my push to the Championship. So when I saw we may transistion to a keeper league I needed to jump on those guys that were out there.

I'm thinking we could keep 7 position players, 3 starting pitchers, and 1 reliever per team.... Whatever number we settle on for keepers, I think we should let each team owner decide what positions he/she wants to keep so that they can decide rather to have a team built around pitching or slugging, etc. So I would suggest maybe 7 or 8 keeper spots. Anyone else have suggestions?

^^^^skillset, I had forgotten you previously owned several of those players.
I would still like to hold a nice free agent draft next season, but still would like the league to remain enough of a challenge for all players so they can improve their team through other forms of great G.M.-ing...such as trades.
Also, I'm going to let RoR1fan own the Horrid Black Mudd. But I do need G.M.'s who are going to be serious about maintaining their club, as it could lead to long-term lopsidedness within the league.

OK, I have changed the settings to a "Keeper League". 12 players (subject to change) from each team will be kept from 2007 to 2008. Every owner must submit their 12 kept players no later than Feburary 21.
Next year, obviously, there will be the same number of teams, same divisions, and almost the same scoring. The only statistic that I am considering adding is 1 (one) fielding stat - Fielding Percentage. Same trade deadline, same waiver rules (with a different order), and probably a different ordered draft.
RoR1fan is back owning his original team.
So far I've been given confirmation that the following teams and their original owners will be back next season:
Downtown Raiders Indiana KC Hunter Westport Stingers (me) Bolt of Blue Horrid Black Mudd Ankeny Albatross African Jungle Cocks The Chefs
Teams that need an owner:
Schofield's Slaughters Team Rubber Scrapers KC Banditos
Not sure/no response (yet):
IA Stars Gordon Will Rule The AL Lawrence Legends Stanley PowderBlue agordon7's Bombers
Members expressing interest:

OK, Fantasy Leaguers, this is really important information: I realize some players - especially the playoff teams - added and dropped many players late in the season. I can understand why you guys made the moves because nobody knew this would be a keeper league. *Some* of these players were dropped for injury-related purposes. Every player who was dropped because of an injury that would have forced that player to be inactive for the rest of the season will automatically go back to that player's original Fantasy team. (NOTE: This includes pitchers who were "shut down", such as James Shields.) I'm honestly trying to be fair here - no biases. If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to PM me or e-mail me. Adding free agents will be forbidden until next February. The players will then be added through a Free Agent Draft (much like the Draft we held last season). Please note that if you drop a player, that player will be gone until next year's draft. As mentioned above, I have limited the roster size to 12 players, beginning in February. Please have those rosters submitted by February 21. (That's a long time from now, so no worries.... )ALSO: If anyone else dropped any players for injury-related purposes or feels their player should be restored to their team, please notify me personally. This is extremely important. If you don't notify me, I'll assume that you still want that player gone. Hopefully, there should be no more transactions reversed. Here are the transactions that have been redone: James Shields - Back to African Jungle Cocks from Bolt of Blue Josh Anderson - back to Bolt of Blue Erik Bedard - Back to African Jungle Cocks from Bolt of Blue Nyjer Morgan - back to Bolt of Blue Carl Crawford - Back to Downtown Raiders from Bolt of Blue I'm trying to be fair, here. Please let me know if you want a player that you dropped because of injury/shutdown back on your team.
