Survivor returns, baby! This time - the topic of choice is current players throughout Major League Baseball. This list may appear somewhat subjective, but I believe the list below contains the Top 100 players throughout MLB. Since the list is rather extensive, we'll go with a two-man elimination. The rules are as follows: - Only one member (or guest) may vote in each round.
- Two votes for one player in each round eliminates that player.
- Guests may vote in this forum. However, if IP addresses match, then that member will be warned (as it is against our board policy) and only one of that person's votes will count in that particular round.
- Once a player has been eliminated, he is eliminated for good during the contest.
- Royals players will not be included in this contest.
Remember that you may cast your vote for any player for whatever reason possible, or for no reason at all. However, from a poster to a fellow poster.....use objectivity. Be rational. It makes for a more interesting contest.

Vladimir Guerrero 91. Josh Beckett 92. Chase Utley 93. Johan Santana 94. Manny Ramirez - Do not include the player's salary in your choice. Each of these players comes without a pricetag.
- As I mentioned earlier, please choose from this list thoughtfully. No, you can *technically* choose based on any criteria you wish, but from one poster to another - have some kind of reason for it. In other words, don't select Pujols in the first round - we all know he's one of the best players in MLB. This list is a bit subjective - it doesn't necessarily mirror fantasy value, but more or less real world value. I referenced B.P. and a couple other sources for these players.
- Again - as a poster's recommendation - Choose players based on their talent level right now....not based on career accomplishments.
- Pitchers were far more difficult to handle. I gave considerable weight to recent career accomplishments. Only true elite/elite closers are included.
- I'm sorry if this list isn't precise. I wanted to copy a list based on WAR, or something of that nature, but couldn't find such a list. And I know there are a few of you (like Dr. Thunder) who would disagree with the premise of such a list, to begin with.

OK, first vote. I'll go with John Danks, Chicago.
(Remember two votes eliminates one player in a round --- not three).

SS - Stephen Drew (ARI). He hasn't lived up to his lofty promise yet.

Hopefully, there's no gridlock and changed votes this time around. Maybe we can generate a bit of discussion to accompany the selections. Here is what I think about each selection.
Danks - This is a safe choice, as I don't believe he'll ever repeat his 2008. Just a goldmine strike for the Pale Hose in '08....upside is that of a #3 or #4 pitcher, I think.
McLouth - I can understand this selection, as he does a variety of things well, but doesn't provide any outstanding tool. And it was a bit of a jab at that Pirates fan, which is a + in my book.
Drew - I can definitely understand this. Gordon has already surpassed him, I think, overall, and he's a year younger. (Wasn't Stephen a drafted 3B?)
Rodriguez - A 'roids jab. I get it.
Bradley - Very productive, when healthy. The overall package isn't quite there. On Royals Review, devil_fingers points out that Bradley still would have been more valuable offensively in 2007 and 2008 than any Royal on either of those squads.

Some of these are pretty hard to sort through.
I'll go with Danks to finish him and then vote for Kinsler.

I'll say Ryan Ludwick, STL, mostly because his 2008 was an abberation. Just not going to happen again.
