If it's Davies, Lillibridge and a lower level pitching prospect I can live with that but just Davies is not enough I wouldn't trade him for that but hey I'm not the GM (Yet ;D)

Did anyone listen to the Royals postgame show on the radio? Were the callers asking any questions about the possible Dotel trade, or any possible trade for that matter?

mlbtraderumors.com cites MLB.com saying that John Shuerholz hasn't even negotiated with Dayton Moore yet.

Do these trade rumors, and seesaw battles, remind anyone of the 2000 presidential election?

As I was listening to XM Radion early this morning Buck Martinez said, and I quote.
"Dotel's value has increased significantly over the last 24 hours."

that must mean Texas is not trading Gagne leaving Dotel as the best reliever available

From MLB Trade Rumors:
Teixeira, Dotel Trades Done
Buster Olney just reported on ESPN that the Mark Teixeira trade is officially complete and does not involve Kyle Davies. And then Jayson Stark reported that the Davies for Dotel deal is complete.
-----------------------------------------------------
Again, I would be extremely disappointed if Dotel were traded for Kyle Davies straight up. Davies projects as a back-of-the-rotation starter, and probably fits better in middle relief. You simply don't trade for bullpen guys when you're not in contention.
Bill Bavasi, the Mariners' G.M., has been criticized in the past for sitting on his hands at the trade deadline. Players (notably former reliever Jeff Nelson) have openly criticized him for this. How can Dayton Moore ignore the other supposed offers and go straight to his former organization? This move just screams stupid, in my opinion. I am hoping a Dotel-for-Davies deal does *not* go down.

After much hype and anticipation was built around the Royals possibly trading the young Zack Greinke, Mark Grudzielanek, David Riske, Jason LaRue, and Reggie Sanders, it turned out the Royals made only one trade. This pales in comparison to the many deadline trades having been made the last couple years.
I'm going to continue this thread as the new trade deadline approaches.
Which players will go? Which will stay?

It really depends on who we can get through the waiver wire. We'll release almost everyone to crowd the list, but who really knows? I think some garbage players will get all the way through.
