Ok, ok...so I know my first two installments of fake Kansas City Royal baseball crashed and burned. Ok, ok...so I wasn't able to bring home a pennant to the might powder blues. However, the old saying is...third times a charm. Right?!
Well, here's the plan, which has been in the wings, since we are starved for baseball until February. Gone is MLB 2007, gone is MLB 2K8 for the Wii (which is a poor POOR stat keeper w/one of the worst glitches of all-time). In enters MLB Power Pros, a kiddie-esque looking but excellent baseball sim. If it was up to me, I'd go pick up the 2008 installment of the game. But like most people of the video gaming world, the budget has been scaled back...so I'm stuck for now.
Essentially, I've started a "FAKE" Kansas City Royal franchise on MLB Power Pros. From the roster, to the division....its about as bunk as you can get. However, it has been one of the funnest experiences I have had with a baseball game since the days of RBI Baseball. There are some drawbacks to the game, such as outdated rosters (although I have made it work w/some edits), a three-day waiting period on trades and the kiddie graphics of the players. But, the stat engine is very deep, the game plays exceptionally smooth, the stadiums (for 2007) are very accurate and detailed and it fits the need for baseball during the off-season.
But, enough on a video game review. You want beisbol....Royals style. Before I introduce the fake Kansas City Royals, check out the newly aligned divisions.

Radical MLB Commissioner Realigns the League
Commish Clinton Drives MLB in New Direction.
(AP) New York, NY - MLB Commissioner William Clinton has been known for taking risks in previous jobs.
But this one may be one of the larger shots in the dark.
Clinton announced the sudden and shocking realignment of Major League Baseball today, citing "a loss in fan interest" and "revenue".
"You don't bring in fans to watch the games, you lose butts in the seats, and then lose profit," Clinton addressed the national media and audience.
Major League Baseball attendance has dipped to all-time lows; down 55% since 1992. Only two organizations, the Yankees and Orioles, posted attendance figures over 1,000,000 last year. Kansas City was 31st at 298,999.
As Clinton unveiled the new divisions, a chorus of gasps and gags echoed through the MLB Conference room.
"Utter disbelief," said Demsey Jack, GM/owner of the Kansas City Royals of the new aligned divisions of baseball, "Mr. Clinton thinks we will generate money by shifting teams out of their regional markets? What profit we make as an organization will be quickly lost in travel expenses. Wow, its utterly shocking...I'm still in disbelief."
Here is a listing of each league and division:
American League

Clinton did not offer justification behind the new alignment, but did say "he drew them out of a hat."
